Interfacing blood with any artificial surface instantly triggers the activation of coagulation at interface, posing a risk adverse thromboembolic complications. Immediately upon contact, proteins adsorb to turning it into an active prothrombogenic and proinflammatory interface promoting platelets cascade. Here, interactive hemocompatible nanocoating is designed that synergistically combines antifouling polymer brushes activity anti-FXIIa antibody tackle two main causes surface-induced coagulation. The provide passive layer rendering stealth non-thrombogenic against activation. Furthermore, as soon traces FXIIa arise, coating immediately specifically scavenges it, thus actively switching-off contact right beginning.
